Completed: Workshop Programme. Walking with God: mutual support for the spiritual journey
If you are a social or diaconal worker, youth or pastoral worker and would like to take some time to develop your spiritual resources, develop self-care or deal with the extra demands of work at this time – then this Workshop Programme could be for you!
Invitation
The Programme recognises that spirituality is an important element of our work and life. However, the prevailing anxiety in our societies today threatens our relations with people and with our own selves. It undermines the fullness of living, prevents us from discovering inner spiritual wealth and gifts within ourselves and other people.
In this Workshop Programme we would like to invite you to:
- Devote time to reflective practice on your spiritual journey and build your own resources in a mutually supportive environment;
- Look back on your personal biography as a resource that shaped you and that may sustain and support you in your journey forward;
- Learn in a peer group of other workers in order to share and affirm common humanity, express compassion and practice accountability;
- Build an empowerment-based framework for recognising the energising presence of God in our lives;
- Discover and share resources of self-compassion and spiritual practice to address fatigue.
Methodology of the Workshop Programme
The programme will blend the sharing of participants’ experience, gaining fresh reflection through the Bible studies and various experiential methods. The emphasis will be on a participatory approach to learning.

The Workshop Programme is led by Emese Závodi. Emese has a Master’s degree in Theology and is a pastor in the Reformed Church in Hungary.
